Once the Vlogging Stops: Insomnia60 MY EXPERIENCE

Good morning again readers, welcome to today’s second blog post: as promised in my review of ‘The Cure’ by Lady Gaga (which can be found here) I am going to be discussing my experience at yesterday’s Insomnia60 Gaming Festival.

As I believe in fairness I am going to be discussing all the positives and the negatives of the event, I’m expecting this post to be quite a long one so I’ll include a read more link below, however I do recommend reading because it’s going to be good and will definitely be quite eye-opening to some readers.

Good afternoon readers!! Welcome to MikeyMix! This blog post is going to be very short and very sweet, if you’ve read the title of this blog post or my review on ‘Still Got Time’ by ZAYN, then you’ll already be aware that I am heading to Birmingham tomorrow (Saturday April 15th) to check out Insomnia60 Gaming Festival.

I’m hoping to run FIVE stories for the event: ‘Going Viral: The Rise of YouTube Gaming Stardom’ (working title), ‘A World Within Our Own: The Advancement of Virtual Reality’ (again, another working title), ‘Insomnia60: The MikeyMix Experience ft Dan’s Cam’ (Daniel is my little brother whom will be coming to the event with me, he’s a huge gamer so it would’ve been foolish for me not to bring him), ‘Insomnia60: What The Fan’s Think’ and finally ‘How To Survive: Insomnia60’ (a new series I’m thinking of running is a ‘How To Surive…’ series in which I basically discuss how to fully enjoy specific events).

Minecraft YouTuber/cover artist TheOrionSound and a representative from VR developers Coatsink have very kindly agreed to speak to me during the event (very excited for that as I love conducting a good interview), if anyone reading this wants to come and have a chat for me to be involved in some of the posts I’ve got planned feel free to! It doesn’t matter whether you’re a YouTuber (no matter how big or small), gamer or just a general attendee come say hello and I’ll gladly hear what you have to say (I’ll be sporting a very fashionable “Press” pass so you shouldn’t miss me!).

Don’t forget to follow me on instagram: @MikeyMixBlog and feel free to add me on Snapchat ‘mikeymixblog’ were I’ll be documenting the entire event tomorrow!

So until next time: stay safe, be happy and keep on jamming!!

Hello everyone! Welcome to MikeyMix, for today’s blog post I will be reviewing ‘Still Got Time’ the new single from British pop-star and ex-one direction band member ZAYN.

I also have an announcement that will be discussed after the review (it’s not particularly “huge” but I am very excited).

The track, which is the singers first solo release since the release of his debut album last year, features rap-artist PARTYNEXTDOOR.

The first thing the listener discovers upon first play of the track is the chilled beat: the slowed down, relaxing instrumental stays prominent throughout the song giving it a Bob Marley, reggae feeling to the song.

The vocals provided by ZAYN and PARTYNEXTDOOR compliment each other and blend together greatly that at times it feels like there is only one vocalist on the track.

I will be giving this track a 3 out of 5 star rating because although I did enjoy it I can see myself getting bored as it is quite repetitive. I cannot see myself adding this track to my playlist as in my eyes it’s nothing special.

That being said I am excited to see what ZAYN does next and what the remainder of 2017 has in store for him.

The track is available for purchase on iTunes and is available for streaming on all streaming platforms: Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal.

Now: time for my announcement!…I am very excited to announce that I will be attending this years ‘Insomnia60 Gaming Festival’ in Birmingham!

I reached out to the organisers of the event and they have very kindly invited me down: I will be writing a review of my trip and although I usually specialise on music posts I am excited to try out a new type of blog post.

For anyone interested, the ‘Insomnia60 Gaming Festival’ it will be taking place from April 14-16 and tickets can be purchased via the following link: www.insomniagamingfestival.com

Until next time: stay safe, be happy and keep on jamming!!
